AOSW Seeks Editor-in-Chief


AOSW seeks an Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Psychosocial Oncology (JPO), its official peer-reviewed journal.  The incoming Editor-in-Chief will have primary oversight of the Journal’s Editorial Board, peer-review process, and dissemination of the highest-quality research for the profession. Application Process
Interested individuals should prepare the following application materials and submit to AOSW Executive Director Sheila Lee ([email protected]) by September 15, 2022. Applications will be accepted via e-mail only.

Applications must include:
  • Letter of Application that describes your qualifications for the role of JPO Editor-in-Chief, including any experience as an editor or member of an editorial team; applicable skills that align with the below outlined duties, responsibilities and qualifications; and demonstrated capacity to manage deadlines and to attract and retain contributors to projects.
  • Vision Statement that provides a clear description of your vision for JPO under your leadership. This statement should set forth your goals and plans for Journal and how you will operationalize your plan.
  • Curriculum Vitae that accurately represents your experience, indicates your current affiliations, and lists your current contact information.
  • Letters of Reference: two letters of reference and the contact information of two additional references that AOSW reserves the right to contact via phone or email during the selection process.
Applications will be reviewed by the Search Task Force immediately after the September 15th submission deadline. Interviews will be conducted by phone (Zoom/Teams or conference call) during the first two weeks of September 2022. The selected candidate will be expected to disclose any potential conflicts of interest prior to appointment and annually thereafter throughout their term of service.
