LLS Hematology-Oncology Social Worker of the Year Award

LLS Hematology-Oncology Lifetime Achievement Award 
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is also pleased to announce the LLS Hematology/Oncology Lifetime Achievement Award. This award was created to specifically honor an oncology social worker who has exhibited leadership and support for blood cancer patients and has had ongoing involvement with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) throughout their career. This award was established to recognize an exceptional social worker with ten (10) or more years of experience in hematology/oncology. Click here to download the application.

GO2Foundation for Lung Cancer's Social Worker of the Year Award

GO2Foundation-2.pngThe Go2Foundation for Lung Cancer is pleased to support this award. The Go2Foundation for Lung Cancer recognizes the work and importance of social workers in the lives of people at risk for lung cancer, those diagnosed and their loved ones. This award, given annually, recognizes dedication to the lung cancer community and field of oncology social work. The award comes with a $1,500 stipend that covers conference registration, hotel/airfare, and membership fees for non-members. Click here to download the application.

AOSW Volunteer Social Worker of the Year Award

Established to honor AOSW volunteers, this $1,000 award provides complimentary registration to AOSW Conference and an annual opportunity to recognize an exceptional, experienced oncology social worker and active volunteer of AOSW. Only AOSW Board or Committee Members can nominate someone for the Volunteer of the Year Award; the Awards Committee cannot nominate anyone for this award. The award is presented to an oncology social worker who, in the day-to-day delivery of compassionate service, is a model for the profession itself. Kim Lawson Scholarship

Established to honor AOSW President, Kim Lawson, this $1,000 scholarship defrays the cost of conference attendance for an AOSW member who has demonstrated commitment to the profession, including pursuing a PhD or DSW as part of your professional development. The scholarship is supported through generous donations of supporters, including our own members. Click here to download the application.

Naomi Stearns Conference Scholarship

Established to honor the first AOSW President, Naomi Stearns, this scholarship defrays the cost of conference attendance for a member who has demonstrated commitment to the profession. It is supported by donations to the Naomi Stearns Scholarship Fund. Click here to download the application.

Palliative Care and End-of-Life Scholarship

Established in 2006 in memory of longstanding AOSW member and leader in palliative and end-of-life care, Betty Vargo, this scholarship is given in support of an AOSW member seeking a master's degree in social work and with a demonstrated interest in end-of-life care. 2021 Conference Scholarships (5)

These scholarships are sponsored by AOSW and supported through generous donations of supporters, including our own members. Five conference tuition scholarships cover the cost of registration to the Annual Conference. Recipients are chosen based on a demonstrated commitment to the field of oncology social work.
