About the Webinar
Surviving in the day to day trenches of clinical work with seriously ill or end-of-life patients is rewarding, but very difficult. It is imperative that clinical social workers take the lead to ensure their own professional happiness as well as providing strategies to other providers they work with. In this webinar we will discuss key signs and symptoms of not “surviving in the trenches” and identify short and long term strategies for being able to do this difficult work and find happiness.
At the end of the presentation, the participant will be able to:
- Identify specific and unique risk factors of burnout/compassion fatigue for oncology social workers.
- Review critical clinical constructs to help us understand the risks such as counter transference.
- Discuss short and long term strategies for surviving in the trenches, as well as programs for helping other clinical providers find ways to survive.
