Welcome Back to AOSW Kudos!

May 19, 2026
Kudos

Since we face challenges daily as Oncology Social Workers, it is important for us to have a space to acknowledge our success. In my experience, reading about my colleagues often inspires me for two reasons. It reminds me of the great work I am already doing in this field, and it encourages my lifelong learning and professional growth.

If you feel inspired, I encourage you to connect with other AOSW members through the member directory, SWON discussions, SIGs, committees, and our annual conference. You never know where or when you will find someone worth recognizing for the next AOSW Kudos!

Congratulations to the new Social Work Supervisor of Oncology at the VA in Orlando, Brittany Hahn, LCSW. Her nominee noted, “She is highly deserving of this promotion … due to her exceptional clinical skills and admirable tenacity. Congratulations!!!”

As a member of Moffitt’s EOL Committee, Kim Little, LCSW, OSW-C, accepts two instrumental roles. She trains volunteers for the Comfort Companion Program, and she models the social work role in EOL simulations for nursing students. Her compassion serves not only patients and families, but it elevates our social work profession and supports our interdisciplinary teams.

Appreciation was sent for Lacee McCabe, LCSW. “You went above and beyond to advocate for resources to assist a veteran receiving community care at your facility.” In collaborating with our colleagues, we best support our patients. Thank you!

Any AOSW member can submit a colleague for Kudos! Remember, nominators and nominees must be AOSW members. Access the Submission Form.

Alicia Wlodynski, LCSW, APHSW-C, was first exposed to palliative care during her BSW internship. Since graduating and obtaining her LCSW, she worked in a variety of settings before returning to palliative and hospice care. In 2024, she joined the team at Moffitt Cancer Center as the LCSW supporting the Thoracic, Endocrine, and Head and Neck Clinics. This year, Alicia became an Advanced Palliative Hospice Social Work – Certified, attended her first AOSW Conference and will present at the Florida Society of Oncology Social Workers’ Conference in September. She is passionate about educating patients, families and colleagues about the benefits of utilizing palliative care.
