Hispanic/Latine Patients

We welcome any AOSW members who are interested in learning how to better serve their Hispanic/Latine patients and families. Almost 1 in 5 people in the United States identifies as part of this community, and Spanish is the second most-spoken language in homes in our country. This SIG is being formed to create a community of members who work with Hispanic/Latine patients and have a shared interest in establishing relationships, networking, and support across the country to better serve and address their needs.

Our goals include: education around best practices for working with the Hispanic and Spanish-speaking population; leverage of advocacy efforts to increase access and address disparities in cancer care; encourage and support change; and the creation of a directory of tools and resources for Hispanic and Spanish-speaking patients and families and more.
