Wow, I can’t believe we are already nearing the end of 2018. It’s been a great year for our AOSW webinar series—and we are still going strong. There are opportunities for you to join us live for our remaining webinars on ethics and trauma-informed care presented by Christina Bach and Eileen Joyce, respectively. If you are not able to join us live, please know that our webinars are archived, and you can listen to the same material presented and still obtain CE.
I encourage AOSW members to review the archived webinars and give feedback about topics you would like to see in the future and even offer ideas for presenters. We certainly want to continue to offer quality distance learning opportunities, so please consider presenting in 2019 or encouraging colleagues to present. Use this link to submit a webinar proposal.
As of the publishing of this issue of The Navigator, the Conference Committee will have met and reviewed all the submitted abstracts for our 2019 conference in Tucson, AZ. On behalf of the committee, I thank those who submitted abstracts and especially want to thank the abstract mentors who supported the abstract writing and submissions of their mentees. Please expect to hear back about your abstract submission status by or before November 15, 2018. It is wonderful to see the members supporting each other and it couldn’t be a better personification of our 2019 theme: “Passion, Empowerment and Leadership: Creating an Oasis in Cancer Care.” Conference information will continue to be shared via social media, SWON and right here! Stay tuned.
