There’s an App for That… Social Media at the 2015 Annual Conference
Twitterfall, Web-casting, Hash-tagging, Instagramming, Facebook. These new terms of the current digital age are some of the ways we stay connected to what our friends, acquaintances, favorite businesses and professional organizations are doing. This year we will be able to, like never before, bring the AOSW 2015 Annual Conference experience to those unable to attend.
An important new feature at this year’s conference will be live-webcasting (archived for future purchase and viewing for CEUs) of several of the Seattle sessions. Tune in to “attend” a session from home, or purchase and view an archived session for CEUs following the conference! Watch www.aosw.org for details as the conference draws nearer.
Our Facebook volunteers will be on hand to post information and photographs in real time. In most cases, social media volunteers are using their phones to capture and share content with the outside world. Thank you in advance to attendees for tolerating a little onsite phone usage for this purpose!
As in Baltimore, there will be a “Twitterfall” at this year’s conference in Seattle. All messages and photographs “tweeted” by conference participants and followers that include #AOSW2015 will be included on the Twitterfall. If you’re an attendee, be sure to watch the cascade of tweets on the Twitterfall. If you’re not able to be onsite this year, but wish to send greetings and messages of support to friends and colleagues, be sure to include #AOSW2015 in your tweets.
AOSW has also established an Instagram account that attendees can utilize for sharing images from the conference. It is yet another fun way for attendees to share their conference experiences with other participants or family, friends and colleagues.
For conference participants, AOSW plans to launch a smartphone conference app. This will allow you to plan your conference schedule, read speaker bios, and download session handouts to have on hand without having to wait in line for a printer— or unnecessarily waste paper!
Technology is making it easier than ever before for all AOSW members to feel connected to the Annual Conference. We invite you to join us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and on AOSW.org.
Stay tuned for all the exciting developments at AOSW’s 2015 Conference in Seattle, Washington, May 20–22!
