Editor's Message

By Amy Colver, LCSW, and KrisAnn Talarico, LCSW, OSW-C
Welcome to the next issue of AOSW Connections! We hope that you all are having a rejuvenating summer. It’s hard to believe it's already August. That means that conference is already weeks in the rearview mirror. For those that were able to attend, we hope that you are still feeling the positive, infectious energy that can come from conference – just in simply being with and learning from others that share a passion for the field of psychosocial oncology!

We initially started the process for this issue with the intent of sharing articles on genetics and cancer. We landed with two incredible articles from Allison Werner-Lin, PhD, MEd, LCSW, and Catherine Wilsnack, LMSW, and KrisAnn Talarico, LCSW, OSW-C, that give us perspective on the psychosocial aspects of genetics and cancer. To carry on the spirit of conference, we also have two reflective articles from Sarah Conning, LCSW and Kerry Irish, LCSW, OSW-C. We hope that you will enjoy being with Sarah and Kerry by reading about their experience at conference, and that you learn more about genetics from Allison, Catherine, and KrisAnn.
